Bowlingthismonth subscription question
« on: February 04, 2009, 01:59:18 AM »
Is there a place where i can get a bowlingthismonth magazine subscription at a discounted price?  39$ for 12 issues is quite a bit in this day and age.  If anyone has some sort of discount code etc, can you please pm me and let me know.

Find a proshop or bowling center that has them on the counter and read them there. Or ask your local library to add it to their collection.

Edited to add:

I don't remember ever seeing it anywhere at a discounted price.

They do offer a 2 yr subscription for $63.  That is a better rate and the way I go.

Ninja edit: I should at least say yes, this magazine is worth 39$. You're bound to get a few great tips out of it to help your game, and when coaching can be upwards of 60$ per hour, this is a bargain. I was just expressing that I felt over a year, it seemed like a lot of things were rehashed. I guess there's only so much in bowling you can talk about.

Not really interested in Susie Minshew offering her mini tips and then trying to sell me a 70$ DVD on how to bowl properly.

There's some good gems in BTM to be honest, but I let my sub run out after a year. It just seemed like every new issue was more of the same.

Ron Clifton was about the only writer I found worth taking advice from for the most part. League Night Across America? Lame. Never got anything out of that. You have one guy who shot 900 saying in his excerpt 'I just bowl by feel'. Thanks dude. That's insightful.

But now that I've derailed your thread somewhat bashing the magazine, I wish you luck in finding it cheaper =)

Look for it in the library or pro shop? Come on AZ they can't pay me millions of dollars to write the crap I write if they don't have subscribers.

You know, I bet a LOT of stuff does get repeated because there really is only so much to write about. Each coach gives their own slant on each topic and while there are some agreements I bet there are differences as well.

You guys have full access to most of the writers through email or even this website. If you think of something that has not been covered please post your ideas.

Also keep in mind that the mag. gets new subscribers all the time. The new subscribers have not read all the topics like the long time subscribers.

I think BTM has done a remarkable job considering that with the exception of the bowling ball reviews, every page is written to help SOMEONE become a better bowler. There is no USBC coverage or industry reports, and if anything is written about the PBA or it's bowlers it's usually written with bowler improvement in mind.

So if anyone has any ideas they would like to see covered I am sure that BTM is all ears I know that I am.

On behalf of BTM THANK YOU SUBSCRIBERS!

Bowl great!
