They were not going to close it. The center is called City Lanes of Michigan City, Indiana. They have big leagues every night of the week, it was just a business that the owner did not want to partake in any longer. She wanted to sell it to someone that knew how to keep a center alive and well, and was not going to sell it until she found the right buyer. It was for sale on the market for 10 years with a steep price. She wanted to keep leagues, and was not willing to sell it to an AMF/bowlmor minded buyer. Someone bought another alley near by and did that, they chased out all leagues (which made ours grow), and the center is now up for sale again. This is after one year of doing the AMF bowlmor strategy that clearly does not work.
The center needs new lanes, so I am hoping it is an investor type buyer..
