most boring player on tour?

With all this talk about how everyone loves to see Smith make the finals or telecast etc., what are peoples thoughts on who they least like to see in the telecast?  While this is slightly negative , I think it has a place in a discussion of what makes the tour good or bad.

My vote goes to Brian Voss.  I think he is the most fundamentally sound, boring player on tour.  It's like watching Tim Duncan put up a double double.  It might be good on paper, but seeing it in person (on TV) just bores me to tears.  No backswing, low speed, never plays a big line, and somehow he manages to pick the most solid colors for balls out of anyone on tour, so you can't even see the ball rev up....everything that COULD make bowling a spectator sport is lacking in his game.  He DOES have some personality, but it's mostly reserved for his sour puss antics when he leaves a stone 10 or something.  He is just not exciting in anyway.

Is he good?  Yes.  Does he deserve to be in the hall?  Yes.  Could most bowlers learn a great deal from him?  Yes.   Would I EVER like to watch him in a telecast?  NO. (but i still would for lack of alternatives)

Others here seem to think Barnes is boring.(I disagree)  I think that others that might gather votes could be Bryon Smith, although i dig the negative self talk that he lays into himself, I think it's funny.  Shafer and Kent might also make it up there, but i still enjoy watching them more.

Boring or not boring is all perception but if these guys are on i always fast forward past them

Hurd... sweat a plenty and bound to lose.

Arnold.... where's Waldo?  Lane 21, thats where.

Walicek... just not my fave, but he has won.

Dave Traber .... cant stand that game and love to see him lose.

Pinbuster got it.......Dave Arnold.  The guys boring with no emotions but what a tactically perfect style.  Kinda reminds me of Gary Dickenson.  Gary smiles more though.

I don't think Lonnie Waliczek is boring, he used to live here in Topeka, and he is a pretty nice guy. The past couple of weeks, I went to Council Bluffs, and Kansas City, I met Michael Haugen Jr. in Council Bluffs, and he is a pretty nice guy, he is so awsome, I heard he bowled with Kristi and her Daughter, Jessica at Westridge, because only they asked him too, and he seemed really nice to me. the only boring person that is there is Doug Kent, because I just don't like him, Tim Penner, I don't know if you know him, but he is on Tour too, he has been on Tour for 1 year he started last year, and He is a really nice cute and funny guy. I have known him for 3 years, I met him at Gage Center at the Gardner Tournament, he is really nice, I got my picture taken with him last weekend, and since three years ago we have been talking to each other and sending emails back and forth, just like me and Mike do, I met a lot of really nice guys, and some I even got to go eat out with them too.

isn't dale the behemoth who made the finals of a major 3 years ago?  If i remember correctly he is quite fat, and that made him exciting to watch, because he outweighed the rest of the bracket. And the ball looked like a bochi (i have no idea how to spell this word) ball in his hand.  

This is of course not to disparage fat people, as I myself tout a BMI in the morbidly obese range (slight exageration)

I have never seen anyone as large as that man throw a bowling ball though...and that made it worth watching.

Walter Ray. I think as much of it has to do with the broadcasters as it does him. Do they really need to repeat that he's a horseshoe champion and that he is the best spare shooter on tour EVERY show he makes (since he makes half of them)?

Oh and I disagree on Voss. I have to cheer for him, since he gives some hope to those of us who are rev-impared.

Dave Arnold HANDS DOWN.  The only time I've ever seen him smiling is for his picture in the yearbook.  I absolutely cannot stand the guy.  If I ever made it to the PBA and had to bowl qualifying with him or something, I'd kill myself.

There are several mentionables:

I agree on Eric Forkel.  Dullsville.
Dave Arnold is about as exciting to watch as growing grass.
If he ever makes a telecast again, David Ozio can be a real yawner, too.

If you go back to the good ol' days you'll remember Scott Devers who looked like he was going to have a seizure during every shot.  You might also remember the only "brothers" final that ever occurred in the PBA when both Dave and Dale Traber were on the telecast and made the finals.  I almost had to turn the channel and watch something exciting like golf.

Not to take anything away from any of the aforementioned bowlers.  I mean, they've all been on TV whereas the closest I've gotten to bowling on TV is when I videotape my practice sessions.
