Learning to bowl lefty?
« on: March 03, 2005, 10:49:32 AM »
This is a serious request.
I hope this doesn't come to pass!
Due to a spinal condition which may disable my right arm temporarily and possibly permanently, I am going to have to seriously consider a hand switch if I can bowl at all. My right bicep is already deteriorating and I am not sure if surgery will bring it back. The surgery may put me down for some time but won't know until additional tests are done. The surgery is extremely dangerousas it involve the nerves themselves. God will carry me through I'm sure but He's not a bowler and I want to be before and after.
Is there a book or video which specifically shows the nuances of left hand vs right hand bowling? Those who have made the switch any tips on how I can retrain my body. I tried bowling lefty when I had a minor injury before and could not score over 50. I currently average 185 - 195 but I love the game and don't want to give up.
Not looking for sympathy. I always try to have a plan for the unknown.
If you have any sites or printed stuff I can obtain PM me.
Prayers will be appreciated because a lot is still unknown except to the One who created my bowling arm.

No it's a degenerative condition in my spine.
