BR2006 - Update
« on: December 25, 2005, 04:58:03 AM »
Here's the latest. Thought I would try and consolidate everything down and find it in one place.  If I've missed your name, let me know.  I'll try and keep this updated as the year goes along.

Ball Reviews / Bowl 4 Fun.com gathering July 21-23

Here is a Yahoo map of where Creekside Lanes is located.
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?addr=1450+trademart+blvd&csz=winston+salem%2Cnc&country=us&new=1&name=&qty=

Creekside Lanes
1450 Trademart Blvd.
Winston Salem, NC 27127

My email address if you need more info:
rclifton@triad.rr.com

The hotel I suggest is Extended Stay America. It is clean and cheap!
Use the Winston Salem / Hanes Mall location.
You can find it on www.extendedstayamerica.com for a map. It just one exit from the bowling center.

Ok, so I'd love to come to this, but I have a Wife that has no interest whatsoever in bowling.  Is there a lot of other stuff to do while there to keep her happy?

There's a Harrah's Cherokee casino a few hours away.  She could spend a whole day touring the Biltmore estate.  I believe that there is some caverns to explore nearby.  We hit one on our way from Asheville back to Winston Salem.  High Point is probably the biggest furniture site in the country.  Unfortunately, the market is from April 27 to May 3.

Leave 'er home - that's what I'm doing.  Then you, too can go to Silver Fox Lanes.

Seriously, I invited my wife to join me, but she doesn't do well sitting for long periods of time, and since I'll be driving to NC, that would be a problem.  She has told me that she has enough to do at home to keep her busy.

Oh, btw, did I mention that she also has no interest whatsoever in bowling?

TTT!

Hoping to have a "new" job by the time this rolls around.  I applied for a position in R&D within the company to get away from production and shift work.  I've never seen such intelligent, but clueless people.  I know common sense isn't common, but jeeeeeeez!  Now I know why Scott Adams calls them inDUHviduals.

Finally threw a decent series last week.  Hopefully I can stay tuned up until July so I can make a decent showing.  Really looking forward to being able to enjoy myself this year.  Living so close and having time off this time will make a huge difference.

No idea if I said this already, but it looks like I'll be able to go and amaze you all with my horrid bowling after all.  Hooray.

I finally got off my duff and booked my room today at Extended Stay America.

I am pacing myself so that I don't get too psyched too soon.  After all, I have several other big bowling events between now and then:  Illinois State tournament (north) this weekend, ABT Chicagoland Open Memorial Day weekend, USBC Nationals June 24-25, Petersen Classic July 13 (running my own squad), and (at last) the BR gathering in NC.

For those interested, I'd be happy to host a poker tournament at my house.  I live 15 minutes from Creekside.  Anyone SERIOUS about wanting one, send me a PM.  I'm not on frequently lately, but I'll make a better effort.  I don't want to detract from the main post, but we can work out some details on a free or small entry no limit hold-em tourney if there is enough interest.

Hmmmmm, guess I need to make that other batch of beer next time I'm off.  That IPA is "evaporating" pretty fast.
