Breaking in new soles/heels
« on: August 20, 2010, 09:31:06 AM »
Any advice?  I normally use a #10 pad with a teflon pad and the red leather heel.  I switched to a new house that just refinished the approaches and they are dangerous slick.  My normal set up give me no stability.  If I move to the next sole/heel, sometimes it's OK, but sometimes I stick.  There shouldn't be such a huge difference going from a 10 to an 8 sole, for example.

I have the SST6's which have the horseshoe heels.  I know these need to be broken in, but don't know how.  Just rub them into the carpeting for 5 minutes, rub in some cigarette ashes, soapstone...  Is there something to do with the soles as well?

I ordered a Slide Sock from Smash49 this afternoon, but want some options if it doesn't get here in time.  I've never bowled so bad and had my legs feel so bad after a night of bowling.
