depends on your tilt. some people track low and still cover a large portion of the ball and others are spinners.

I am also a low track bowler 3-1/4 to 3-1/2. I layout my equipment
just like anyone else, Pin to PAP and CG to PAP. Low track bowlers
will have a lot of negative to neutral pins and centerline CG's
but the layout process and the lane play results are the same as
they would be for a medium or high track bowler.

Obviously there is inherent positives and negatives to low or
high track bowlers but as icewall said the bowlers tilt to track
diameter is where a low track bowler can get into trouble. If
someone has like a 5 or 6" track diameter they are likely a
spinner and other drilling issues may need to be addressed

In your situation, with you averaging 215 in league, I doubt that
to be the case. Lay out your equipment Pin to PAP X GG or MB
to PAP and you should be good to go. If you feel or identify you
are spinning the ball and it's an issue You may want to invest
in a wrist brace or lighter ball until you rebuild or strengthen
your wrist.

I dont think I spin the ball I think Ill invest in a camera and do some footage for you guys and i think that will explain it a little better with a visual.

good that might help. a video never hurts.

TOM is right. you lay out equipment the same way just with pins usually further left then a lot of bowlers.

the only time you have to know your tilt is when drilling asymmetrical equipment as you can change how quickly a ball spins up or gets into a roll. so people who spin the ball more then others really benefit from asymmetrical cores as they can create more forward roll by placing the MB more towards your pap

Just a question, is it really possible to have a low track and not spin the ball?  I guess I've never seen this type of bowler, but I've definitely seen spinners(who can hardly get Maxx Zones, LevRGs and VGs to wrinkle).  Do low trackers necessarily have a lot of tilt, and do they generally need stronger pin placements?

Michael Fagan is the example of choice, extremely low track and doesnt spin the ball

Yes, it's very possible to have a low track and a large diameter ball track (low axis tilt).  And it is important to know your axis tilt when laying out any ball.  A customer with low axis tilt needs layouts that will help the ball get down the lane further before rolling.  One with high axis tilt needs layouts that will make the ball roll as soon as possible.  Axis tilt is also important to know when making a selection of a ball to buy.  --  JohnP

how do you happen to find your axis tilt can you relate it to your track or distance?

Powermachine- yes you can relate axis tilt to your track. Roll your ball on an oily area of the lane. Measure the track ring around the circumference of the ball. The greater the distance the less axis tilt you have. The less axis tilt you have, the sooner your ball will go into a roll and increase backend hook potential. The smaller the distance the higher degrees of axis tilt you have and the more your ball will skid. That’s why bowlers with less axis tilt do better on heavier oil patterns and bowlers with more axis tilt do better on dryer oil patterns.

If you feel that you’re struggling on heaver oil patterns, as I said before get a brace for the time being until you can get your wrist strengthened. A brace will help a bowler stay behind the ball more but definitely work on building up your wrist and dumping the brace if you can. At 20 years old, you have an excellent average and bowling is a life long sport.

To find your axis tilt, go to the Tech Center at Buddiesproshop.com, link below.

http://www.buddiesproshop.com/9/Tech_Center.html

First read the article titled "How to measure track diameter", then measure yours.  Then go to the article titled "Asymetrical layout guide".  At the top of the article you'll find a chart that relates track diameter in inches to degrees of axis tilt.  --  JohnP
