Some polishes change the surface grit of the ball, others do not so you should be aware of what you are looking for in a polish before you start.  One off the shelf compound polish that seems to work on bowling balls is 3M Finisse IT.

If you want bowling ball polish, try Valentino.

If you want to try the 3M Finesse It, you should be able to find it at your local auto parts store.

You can also try any of the online bowling retailers to find other manufacturers bowling ball polishes.
