Kegel Grand Opening
« on: September 01, 2007, 09:24:04 AM »
My son and I went to Seminole Lanes for the Kegel Pro Shop Grand Opening today. We had notnhing but fun while we were there.

Jason Couch and Randy Pederson (one of the funniest guys I have ever had the pleasure of meeting) were great people and autographed anything that was put in front of them. Gave advice about bowling when asked. The Kegel employees were also alot of help. I also had the pleasure of meeting Ken Van Baker. He was there taking pictures to put on his web-site.

We were there from 10am-3pm bowling talking and eating. The Krauss family that owns and operates the center was nothing but gracious.

TJ,

I haven't been to Seminole Lanes in over 5 years now. I remember them being great hosts for the tournament that we were there for. I hope all is well around in your area, as it is a very great and kind bowling community. I hope to visit there again soon.

The wife and I also went to the event today, what a blast!  They had a nice line-up of people there, in addition to Jason and Randy, Chuck Gardner from Brunswick, Del Warren and a bunch of the Kegel staff, and also John & Kendra Gaines. This was the first time we met Randy, he had some good stories to tell and gave both of us some advice, the whole experience was great.

Everyone also had a chance to work with the C.A.T.S. system they recently installed on the last two lanes at no charge, very interesting to us as we have never done anything like that.  All in all, a fun afternoon and got to meet some fantastic people.

I found out about this from the BR board at 11:30. Called a friend and left right away. What a blast ! Got a lot of help from Dell and others. Even did 10 shots on the C.A.T.S system. Randy Peterson started bowling on a lane by himself with Couch   watching. Randy was hooking the lane so I walk up to him and say you make me look like I have three revs. He says grab your ball and let me take a look ! So cool.
Gives me a pointer or two. Super nice guy. Later Randy starts doing imitations of some of the other pro bowlers. He had everybody ROTF laughing. My friend got some big time help also. Leaving there I felt like the cat that just swallowed the canary. They even gave us free food to boot. Bet I'll never have a day this fun for free in a long time.

Sounds like it was a great time.  Wish I could have made it up there.  I'm very interested in meeting Ken Van Baber, the host of Let's Go Bowling in person.  I still think his voice doesn't match his appearance.

Hmm, he still hasn't posted the show with the stinkin' lefty from last week, but he got those up.  I see Alakazam and his wife, along with the infamous Dr. K. and her strong mental game fortune cookies.  It's on the photo kegel16.  Nice turnout.  Too bad it was so far away for us, and we were working.
