Rankings like this are useless, because everyone's game is different. These are basically just designed to sell balls not convey any valuable information. For me the most versatile ball of the year and best value was by far the Columbia Freeze. That ball has led me to finally give the rest of the Columbia line a try and now my bag is 1/3 Storm, 1/3 Columbia, and a 1/3 from the Big B.

I have to say I got to throw the Evil Siege yesterday and that ball is a very nice piece for sport patterns. Not sure if it was the ball or the layout, but it was the best hook/set ball I've ever thrown.

Considering these ratings are pretty much uselss, lets allow the knowledgable members of ballreviews.com to fill out their own ball of the year list. I eliminated some of the selections as they were obviously created just to allow more balls to be featured.

Best Particle Solid:
Best Reactive Solid:
Best Reactive Pearl:
Best Hybrid:
Best Urethane:
Best Low Price Point:
Most Versatile:

Regardless of the brand, I think the majority of the time, it''s matching up the surface and core of the ball with the right drilling with the lane surface and bowler''s rev rate, tilt, and speed.  Almost any ball works great when they all match up.

Some balls are complete duds.  I think they should be left out of the discussion.
