Brunswick LaneShield
« on: June 13, 2003, 04:38:24 AM »
A couple of weeks back, someone posted about their house preparing to do a synthetic overlay (in a wood house) with some Teflon material.  Well, I hadn't heard of any such animal at the time, but I just came across an advertisement in Bowlers Journal for a new item from Brunswick.  This new product is called LaneShield, and it is a 50-mil thickness Teflon infused surface that goes down over the wood lanes to both protect the wood and extend the lifespan of the wooden lanes.  It is transparent so the wood still shows through the new synthetic overlay.

How does LaneShield work?  Well, I don't have a clue, and I'm not aware of any houses in my area that have gone to this type of overlay as of yet.  Oh yeah....LaneShield is designed to glow under the black lights, so the cosmic bowlers should like it.  At 50-mil thickness, I'm not sure what to make out of this stuff yet.

Yi, that's an awful lot of money to lose, lol, do they have brackets to take your money too?  I try to avoid Gage's website, just walking into the bowling alley gives me hives sometimes.  North is giving me a twitch, and West Ridge is trying to kill me (I just know it, the approaches are evil . . ), it's a good thing I don't bowl at Southwest, I could be a broken old man in a few years.  Yeah, I suppose I ought to mind my elders, seeing as how I'm only about halfway up the hill . . .

KB743:  That was the one.  I took 4th in the sweeper, you were always on the pair to my left.  Know who you are now.  I was the short little guy down on one knee praying after every shot.  Made it to final 8 in the eliminator.  Loved that long flat oil shot.  Slickest lanes I've ever seen.

Bowling in KCK, you're thinking of Bowl Haven.  60' Guardian, tracks up equipment faster than if I just rolled it down I70 to KC.

This house is Riverboat lanes.  From what Tex says this lane shield may be OK.  At least if it gets banned for high scores it won't be because of me.

Lol, I bowled one stop at Travel League subbing for a team this year, and it's fun.  But I LOVE Meadow!  Don't forget that Bryan Bahr and I both outaveraged Busby at Top Ten last year (yes, my nose is in the air!) and I only lost by 1 pin!  I also have a practice 300 there, my first one of those! (Back to the practice scores again, beware all!)  I'm sure I really embarrass myself, but I can't help it!  You ought to see me practicing by myself when the house is empty, I talk to myself more than Chris Ready does to himself, although I don't have quite the number of personalities.

LMAO, oh wow, this is great!  Ooooh you're evil!  I love when he's walking back and forth at West Ridge arguing with himself.  Dig the new signature!!

Yeah, I see him walking everywhere all the time.  I know he's been working there forever, and it's kinda sad, but with the Urkel pants and more personalities than a psychiatrist convention, you can't help but laugh sometimes!

I have a lot of relatives that frequent St. Joe pretty often.  Haven't been there much myself, but they talk about it all the time.

Lol, yeah, Kirby Cain.  He doesn't really look like a Kirby.  It's hilarious, I've been trying to think of words to describe him (book work, gotta sit down sometimes to just watch people and try to describe them so I can make my characters more real, if that makes any sense), and the closest I've come is stately and respectable.  Weird.

Kinda reminds me of Terry Wilson on Thursday nights too.  Lol, I'm still working on the lefthanded 300, the best I've done so far is 206-562.  I'm having enough trouble with my good hand though, or maybe I just should just switch!

I can't imagine scoring any higher than on the shot they already have out there.  Course, it's always fun to bowl next to the seniors, I attract them like bugs to a bugzapper.

Lol, you ought to listen to Rex trying to do senior razzle dazzle.  He's horrible!  Having Kathi (sp?) for a wife might do that to you though, she's EVIL.
