Brunswick Pro Bowling on PS3
« on: November 18, 2010, 01:40:38 AM »
I just noticed this game is coming out/out and wondered had anyone seen it or played it?

I cant wait till somone makes a decent bowling game, and wondering if this may be it?

Wondering if we will ever see a game that has decent career modes, tournaments, realistic bowlers etc other than all arcade style games...

Dont waste your money...its an ok game maybe..but not for $30 bucks..if you were to get it i wold wait till maybe a used copy comes out or it drops in price...when the ball hits the pins there is no pin action..they drop like dead weights...  and it gets boring very quickly...the computer players either throw straight balls, or just chuck it with some hook right at the head pin...its really no fun at all...i bought it when it came out and i traded it for credit like 2 weeks later...o and to add when your throwing the ball, sometimes (often) it never goes in the direction u throw it...

…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

I really wish the PBA/USBC would help create a decent bowling game that actual bowlers would like..

Sounds like I should just stick with "High Velocity Bowling" for now!

I take it the PS3 version must not be like whatever the Wii had???  I had that game and that was actually very realistic from a pin action standpoint though the aim wasn't always the best.

It is pretty bad.  I got it hoping that it would work well with the Move aspect but when using it, no matter how I throw the ball, it either goes straight or is a backup ball.  When I use the controller, at least it works.  And yes the pin action is horrible.  You hit the pocket and leave 4 pins or 4-10 splits.

Really? A discussion about a bowling video game? Some of you must not have lives outside of bowling. I can think of about 100 better things to do than a freaking bowling video game.

I have the Brunswick game on the Wii and, while I never play it anymore, it wasnt too bad... again the longevity is terrible... and you cant put a realistic amount of revs on the ball!

From what I read and saw in the reviews, you have to twist your wrist to get rotation on the ball, so is nothing like the real life technique!

Yes really... may suprise you to hear but there are a handful of people around the world that like playing computer games... and what better way to enjoy yourself at home than to play your favourite sports at home on the computer!  I can quite happily say that bowling plays a major part in my life from my play time to work time and I couldnt be happier about that

A good bowling game is fun to kill a little time. No different then the other million games out there for your computer or whatever game system you prefer.

Compared to many games, bowling games are great because you don't have a two hour minimum commitment to get anywhere. You can sit down play a quick game or two and go on to other things. No different then solitaire or whatever games may interest you.

It is however nice if the game is somewhat decent. Most are not. For motion games the Wii bowling is very nice. I have no problem getting a lot of revs playing the Wii game, it usually has a high ball speed to match. If they took that game and expanded on it, that would make for a lot of fun.

What they need to do is come out with a bowling game similar to the Brunswick circuit pro bowling games that game out back in the late 90's, the pin action in those games were the best in any game i have played....but have in it balls from all companies and  all 5 pba patterns and the other patterns used, and have ur competition not throw straight or just chuck a hard curve at the head pin ...the pins in the new one were horrible...i would hit pocket and leave 4-10's all the time...EA Sports should try to make one...have the makers of Madden football, and Ncaa Football take a stab at making one...it possibly couldn't be any worse..
