Cut on side of thumb
« on: January 29, 2018, 08:02:54 AM »
Hey guys

I have a fairly bad cut on the outside of my thumb from a rolled up piece of bowling tape.  My fault I was to lazy to replace it for last 2 frames.  My question is I have to bowl tonight and it’s in a bad place, will superglue hold it shut and keep it from tearing the rest of the way while I bowl?

Super glue will work.

super glue with a patch or some threads from a cotton ball will work even better.

Super Glue works, but I prefer NewSkin.  With either, lay down a layer then put a small piece of cotton on top of the first layer, then paste the cotton down with a second layer.  Give it plenty of time to dry before throwing a ball.  Take some scissors and trim any loose cotton.  It will stay in place until you bathe.  --  JohnP

This seems to be the part everyone overlooks. Do it early and give it time to dry. Completely. Not a couple minutes but 10 or so. My son developed a bad cut at the base of his thumb. Hasn't been able to keep it closed. Finally got him to put the NewSkin on early. I did it for him. It held perfectly and for the first time in a week, his thumb didn't open up and bleed.

Don't be afraid to overlap and use two pieces of the cotton.
