So Monday during league, game two after the 9th frame, the scoring monitors froze on our pair. Before we were able to gather some paper to write down the scores, he house rebooted the system, at least attempted to, thinking the scores would come back up. After about a 25 minute delay, we were told to manually score the 10th frame, cause they "will be able to recover the game after we are done", and then proceed to manually score game 3. no big deal on he manual scoring, but after I was all said and done, game 2 was completely lost, and now both teams have to find a time before next Monday come and make up the missing game. Turned out he I/O board or something under the masking unit came loose.
Other than the obvious writing down the scores before the screw with anything, what is the true and proper way to handle this situation, and where in the USBC Rulebook is this covered? I've been looking, but have limited time.
3 of the 10 knew exactly where their score was, one was on pace for a 290, another ended with a 268. Unfair for them really. Unfair for both teams, we one the first game by 8, they won the last game (bowled) by 11, and after the 9th frame of the missing game, they had a 13 pin advantage, but we had a 4 mark advantage. We had 3 guys on strings, and a 1 a single strike, they had 3 opens and two spares... sort of epic dog fight kind of great game. Also really unfortunate, the three of us on strings, had really really gotten locked in, and the 25 minute delay my have hurt the last game bowled.
But what, as the team captain, and a paying player, are my options? Currently we are just planning on making up the game on Sunday as a team, and the other team captain is trying to find a time when his team can show up.
