To enter the contest for the PEARL DROID you must post on YOUR Facebook profile - I want a LANE #1 PEARL DROID- and tag Lane #1 Bowling by adding an @ sign in front of the Lane #1 Bowling name. FYI: in order to tag Lane #1 Bowling, you must like the page first. And if you have tagged Lane #1 Bowling Correctly, it will highlight on your wall...Just do that and it posts it on our page letting us know you are entered. I don't think you understand the point of these giveaways. The purpose is to increase brand visibility through social media (facebook being the prime social media outlet today). If you don't have facebook, you can't help increase their visibility. They aren't giving away free balls just for the heck of it, it's carefully calculated marketing.

It does stink for those that don't use Facebook, but as stated above....that is a small number. It sounds rude, but in a business sense I think they'd trade you two for the 100's of millions on Facebook.

That said, I might be working out a raffle of some kind because I am hosting a Bowl For Kids Sake event at work, maybe I can get a Droid Pearl to giveaway.

So let me get this straight. You have zero interest in Lane 1 because they are GIVING away a ball on a site that you do not use? That has to be the most absurd thing I have heard in a while. Then again, your response may just top that.

GoDenny, reading is a skill. Go back and re-read what I wrote again. I did not say that I have zero interest in Lane 1 .... I said it offers no encouragement to buy/try Lane 1 balls .... Zero interest and no encouragement are two different things.

Do keep in mind that they have given away a bowling ball a month for over 7 years on Bowling Ball Exchange as well. Not many, if ANY manufacturers can match that. This contest is for Facebook people in particular because, as Jaydee stated, they're trying to reach a large number of people through social media. The more people interested in Lane #1 and more sales they get, the more giveaways they can afford to have through all the different entities. I personally would like to see a giveaway for those on the lane1bowling.com forum, as they're true sawheads for sure; maybe someday.

If this giveaway would have never been posted on this site, would you have known about it? Do you frequent other bowling websites? Reading is a skill, and I took your intent a little far, that I'll admit. But it is not their fault that millions of people use Facebook compared to a fraction of that who come here for instance. I do not have a Facebook, nor will I make one for this giveaway. With that being said, I'm not fussi g about the giveaway one bit. I am happy that they are doing SOMETHING to help out the bowler. Lane 1 is the number one selling company in our shop and all I throw. So I can tell customers to sign up for this drawing and have a chance to win a great ball. I am sorry this drawing leaves you ineligible, due to you not having Facebook. That is your option, as it is a free media outlet and a great place to keep up with the latest news from many companies.

So do not blame lane 1 for using a website with many more followers that you are not interested in. Lane 1 produces a great product and I am sorry that you do not have any encouragement to try their equipment. Maybe Richie and the boys will raffle a ball off here one day so you would indeed be eligible.

I've thrown Lane 1 equipment and had great success with only 3 balls out of 11 balls tried. The others performed for me from very bad to ok, but nothing special to warrant to continue buying Lane 1 balls. Ebonite, Storm, and Brunswick balls have performed for me much better than Lane 1. The Lane 1 balls that were outstanding for me were the Red XXXL, Solid Cobalt Bomb and Blue Death with the Red Death being ok.

When I made my original post in this forum, it was meant to speak for people that don't do Facebook and not myself alone. I don't have a problem with not qualifying becasue I have used Lane 1 balls and currently have no desire to buy more at the moment (maybe later), especially with balls from other companies like the Nano, Nexux(s), Missions, and etc that perform better for me than Lane 1. I should have been more specific in my original post that I wasn't meant to be complaining about myself.

With your being a Lane 1 fan, I can understand your strong support for Lane 1. I am happy for you that those balls work for you.

Ty, I don't really have a problem with what Lane 1 is doing. I was trying to point out that people that don't do Facebook, can't enter. My post wasn't meant that I was complaining about only myself. I am aware of the ball give away on BBE as I spend more time there than here on BR, becasue the BBE site is well moderated and controlled. I appreciate your support of Lane 1 balls and am happy they work well for you.

Seeing how much rise I got out of some of you Lane 1 fans, if I could do it over, I would have never posted anything, but whats been done is done and I can't go back and do it over.

Man I thought using skewed statistics about 300s and 800s was enough to sell their bowling balls. I mean the cores are so dynamic and unique they've been running over the PBA tour for years....why the need to give them away?
