Anyone ever work with an instructor
« on: January 28, 2005, 12:09:40 AM »
from the BowlersMAP section from the Ebonite website? I am seriously thinking about contacting one of the instructors and getting  some instruction with the use of video equipment. I wanted to know if anyone has taken lessons from any of the coaches, used the video option and did you see any noticable improvement in your game. What was also covered in your lessons. I live in Missouri and their isn't a coach in our state but I am probably looking at going to Illinois to get some instruction. I just wanted some opinions from those that may have benefited from some bowling instruction. Thanks.

BowlersMap is a very good tool.  It is able to break down your game so that you can spot details.  I was taped in Ill. about a year ago.  Learned quite a bit.  You might call over to St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights and see if Mike Mineman knows of a coach using it at that center.  From what I remember I think they have a few coaches there and one may be using it.

Smash, I contacted St. Clair Bowl and I talked to Mike Imes. I am setting up a date for February to use the video tape as part of my lesson with him. Thanks for the info.

J

No problem.  Mike Imes is a good.  I know he works a lot with the coaching end of things and is involved in High School and youth bowling.  I've not done anything on the coaching end of things with him but have worked with him in the past.

I'm scheduled to do the Bowler's MAP with Juan Fonseca Wednesday.  I debated about it, and after talking to some friends, my coach, and Juan decided to go for it.  I am hoping he will be able to help me fix my game, it has been pretty inconsistent lately.
