Sport condition league
« on: August 08, 2003, 06:18:29 PM »
We just finished our summer sport league.

High ave was 191.
Half the league quit over the course of 12 weeks.
I finished 10th out of 18 with a 144 average, a 37 to 40 pin drop but do very honestly believe that it has made me a more accurate bowler. I had a high series of 550 the last night on 50' of sport compliant Tournament Of Champions condition. Games of 193, 181, and 176.

The wife bowled 6 of 12 weeks and was the ONLY bowler over her regular league average. House condition average 124. Sport average 136-138.

I seen a lot of bowlers that were pure plant and heave walk out of there with the high series/ high game and various others.
The top 4 guys were all pure strokers.

I tried to play outside all season and was hurt by that I think. I could get to the pocket but not carry and if I missed by even 1/2 of a board I was leave splits. I moved inside the last week with the blueberry and had 3 boards as long as the speed was consistant.

I feel I will average 210-215 on my fall league. hopefully a little higher.
I was tracking my accuracy but that got abandoned after the 2nd game of the first set. But I did see myself hitting the pocket more consistantly as the league got into later weeks. I missed my target only once per game the last night compared to 3-4 times a game in the beginning. Now thats what I call IMPROVEMENT!!!

I didnt bowl the sport league in my house this year, but i have been going every friday night to practice on it. I keep my scores and am pretty much averaging around 170 which is 14 pins lower than my normal average.

Last night, I really met my match though. The shot seemed like a reverse block, oil from 1-10 on both sides and drier in the middle. I was trying to use my Threat and it was flipping 5 feet past the arrows!! I then found a comfortable line straight down 10. My high game last night was a 199, low game was a dismal 116. Everything in between was no higher than a 168. That was my first time on reverse block and I look forward to bowling on one again!

How am I supposed to knock all 10 down with one ball?!?
