California bowling centers
« on: February 06, 2012, 12:39:12 PM »
Does anyone know decent bowling centers in Northern California that run lower end tournaments?  I know there are probably a bunch, but looking around online I can only find places that DON'T UPDATE THEIR WEBSITES which is extremely frustrating.  I'm a decent house bowler (I only average around 200) that's trying to get into tournaments, so I'm looking for stuff that's low key.  Thanks for any help!

Northern California is a large area....any where specific?

I live in Lodi, and I bowl in Stockton and Elk Grove...so I figured probably in the Sacramento area.  The bay area is also an option.  Pretty much anything within a 2 hour drive I'd be willing to try out.

1.Gold Country Lanes in Amador county. Just re-did their approaches and lanes.

2.Boardwalk bowl in Santa Cruz, very nice lanes with a good amount of oil layed down.

3.Rocklin Lanes in Rocklin, very nice lanes decent amount of oil layed down.

We actually have our No-Tap tourney every Saturday night at AMF Rocklin. This week would be a great time to make it out, if you can. One of our jackpots is approaching $1,000 this week for only a $5 buy in.

Cloverleaf Bowl in Fremont runs regular tournaments and keeps their web site updated.  This house is very generous with their oil and keeps their lanes immaculate!

I second the Cloverleaf bowl in Fremont lots of tournaments there all kinds from No Tap to Scratch. Singles, Doubles, Trios, Teams, friendly to Darn Right Competitve great place to bowl. Friendly staff and most all tournament organizations stage tournaments there. Bowl Bay Area, 3 Bowlers.com, PRO (The Phil Reagan Organization) and Buddy Souza's( BOWL for BUCKS) as well as the House Tournaments contact Craig and Michele. They are very helpful and will give you all the info you need.

Good tournament coming up in Milpitas @ Mission Lanes called Bowl 4 Bucks. They run it every 3 months or so at different centers around the San Jose Area. Usually 300+ bowlers sign-up. Guaranteed $1,000 for top 3 places. Not bad for a $40 entry fee. I'm bowling the 2nd shift on Sunday. Here is the link http://leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=bowl
