I've been elected as an officer for a traveling bowling club that's started up around Montgomery, Ala. We're looking for tournaments within an eight-hour drive from Montgomery. Basically, that means anything from about Shreveport, La., on the west, to Winston-Salem, N.C., on the east, to Orlando, Fla., to the south, to Louisville, Ky., on the north.

There is no preference to the format of the event, although we prefer a traditional team-doubles-singles schedule. It can be scratch or handicap, big bucks or not, sport shot or standard condition.  We pretty much know about everything in Alabama, but we'd really like to get some information on our neighboring states (Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida panhandle).

Emerald Coast tournament

Peanut Tournament

There's a big one in Biloxi

SBA (I think it's near Tampa this year)

Russell,

Thanks...lol...you just named four out of the five we know about already outside Alabama. :) The fifth one is the one in Pensacola at Cordova Lanes.

The one in/near Biloxi is, I think, the Double Diamond in Gautier. We've already been to that one.

I remember one in Marietta, Ga., a long time ago. Don't know if it's still running. It was held at a BRC center there, usually in May or June. I'm particularly interested if anyone in the Atlanta area has info on that one.

We'd also like to get up to the Nashville area if there's anything up that way.

I live in Atlanta...and I honestly don't know of one held here in town that is of that format.  There is also the Turtles Tournament in Augusta...that's a good one that is in Spring.

We just got a flyer last night from High Point Bowling Center.  It's not on their web site yet.  Last year's Facebook page is here, maybe 2011's will be there soon.

This year says July 16,17 and July 23,24 are the dates.  Mixed tournament with Team, Doubles, and Singles events.  Look like $25 per person per event doubles/singles and $100 for a 4 member team.  They list some hotels with good rates on the back.  Wish I could give you a direct link, but there isn't one.

Quick glance at the flyer says handicap is 90% of 210, and a team is 2 men + 2 women.

Flyer says to call Donna Ratliffe for details.  Phone number for the center is (336) 434-6301.

Not much information here, but here's the link for the enter.

Jess, check out allbowling.com.  Their calender has tournaments listed.  Mainly Ark, Tx, La.

Also check the regional posts on here.  That's where I found lot of the smaller tourny's I bowled.
