Okay ive been planning on getting a camera to record myself bowling and i duno whatt i should get, ive asked this question in other forums and didnt get enough replies to be sure of which one i should get, i need one that has good picture and captures at high fps, also sound is something im looking for, i like to hear the pins during a strike, kinky? i think not! :O thx in advance!

video, digital, dosent matter to me, but i guess id consider digital since ill need to look at my bowling frame by frame on the computer

if you want to go frame by frame, you should go with a Digital Camcorder - I would recommend something like the Sony MiniDV Handycam, they make a LOT of styles/models from $500 or $600 all the way to $3000+.  Check Best Buy/Circuit City for good descriptions - you can probably find what you want and get it cheaper somewhere else.

By stating that you want High FPS I assume you mean slow motion. With normal home consumer video cameras, the FPS is all the same, I believe 30 fps. Software is available for computers to interpolate between frames and make the result appear slow motion. But, for true slow motion, it takes specialty cameras. If nothing but true slow motion will suit you, be prepared to part with some serious $$$$. Do a search on Google for Slow Motion Video and see what you can learn. Most folks doing bowling videos use regular home video cameras and simply move the slider on their computer player a little at a time to attempt to get frame by frame coverage.
There are other ways to accomplish generally the same results but it is not true Slow Motion!

I have a sony Hi8 camcorder.  It has 480x zoom.  I use it frequently when it comes to bowling.  I don't have a digital camera, b/c I am poor.

The lens size will have an effect on how good it is at shooting in low light situations.  

www.google.com is alwalys helful for finding information on just about anything.  Give that a try, to learn more about cameras, and then make a decision on what works for you

As kindswingin stated a good digital camcorder can be had for around 600-800 depending on brand and specs.  I would recoment Sony, it is always very user friendly and you dont need to know alot about cameras to operate their equipment.
