Can Anybody Contact Impending Doom?
« on: September 10, 2020, 10:07:27 AM »
Hey BR, fam. I hate writing this, but I don't know what else to do.

I sent Impending Doom $115 for a NIB 900 Global ball back on June 4th, and he still hasn't shipped it. He gave a few reasons as to why (didn't get a chance to visit his storage bin, problems with his kids), and I've been patient with him - pandemics are hard and I understand everybody's got their stuff to handle. But 3+ months is a bit much.

I tried PMing him multiple times, but to no avail. I sent him an email earlier today in hopes of getting a response, but at this point I'm feeling like I was had. If anybody knows him, or has a phone number I can use to directly contact Doom, that would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: changed 5+ months to 3+, because I struggle with counting.

His real name is Jeremy, at least that's what he's told me in past direct messages.

And as for an update - there is none =/. I just hope Doom is healthy, as is his family.

It really speaks a lot for his continued presence (until now) here that so many people are blindsided by this happening. I hope that whatever is going on with him clears up soon and all this gets straightened out.

One possibility is to contact Joe Lichner Motiv staffer from his area.  I believe he is the Motiv guy that IE spoke of in NE Illinois.  Maybe Joe can put you in touch.  Joe has a YouTube channel.  I believe Joe is from Warrenville, IL.  Worth a shot if you are getting no response noddlejester.

Read this thread noodlejester.  Make sense?  That should help put you on the trail if Joe can help.  https://www.ballreviews.com/motiv/midwest-motiv-test-drives/msg2620851/#msg2620851

You guys seem to forget A) he has done this before when there were no issues as Jumba has stated and B) the OP paid for the ball in June and Doom was still posting here in Late August so there was plenty of time to ship the ball while nothing bad happened to him or his family.

That’s called a pattern. That speaks more to his character than anything else.

Oh - if it’s only $115 so who cares - how about everyone just PayPal me $115. I gladly take your “donation”.

Let’s see how many offer it up.

It's a shame about the money, but there is always a reason. Hopefully he makes it right, and he's alright.

Can’t we stop trying to justify or find an excuse for this guy? He stole $115. Plain and simple. He was still posting till September 15th, way too much time to ship a bowling ball, regardless of covid, aliens, earthquakes or whatever.

Stop sugarcoating this. The guy stole money from a guy who trusted him, no other way to see it.

I gave noodlejester a good way to figure out how to get in touch with ID thru Motiv staffer Joe L.  Up to him now to work this out.  It's evident that ID is not coming forward.  You can see from my post with some research you can get your ball or money back.  Pandemic or not this is ridiculous.

Although contacting a friend might work - in this day and age who knows. It’s worth a shot.

Agree with not sugar coating it. It’s straight theft - plain and simple.

For the crowd stating it was only $115 - I have yet to get anyone to take my offer of just sending me $115 for no reason. Sounds to me like it’s just $115 when it’s not your money at stake.

His name should be on the PayPal transaction.  Post his name.  That way he gets blackballed from every being on some other staff because there is a 99.9% chance this "sale" was for an undrilled staff ball.

Between PayPal, the USBC member lookup and Google it can't be hard to find him.

I am sure we can help OP get at least his money back. We do need his name though...

I hate when things like this happen. We can put his name on FB on the bad sellers group so people won't have to deal with stuff like this in the future.
