When I had a similar "dent", "divot", or "indentation" on my V2, I let it sit outside the backyard patio on a ball cup in the hot summer sun. The key is to have the affected side at the 6 o'clock position. The defect will slowly correct itself. I learned this method from Giorgio A. Tsoukalos, famous for his knowledge beyond the stars. "it doesn't work, but it works"
Does a round object have sides? I say yes, pizza has triangles..

Drill a 2.5" hole to 3" deep and then plug it.

picture is correct, upside down

Looking again the first photo is also backwards. The pictures have been flipped, if you just turn the photo 180 degrees the USBC and the serial number are still backwards.

Put a balance hole where the indentation is.  Make sure the CG is kicked out.  CG matters...  ;)
