Is a Hammer sting considered to be a big backend hooking ball?

It's not a skid / snap machine...but it has a very good amount of backend provided you utilize it on enough oil / stay far enough from early friction.  For me it's just a stronger Black Widow...same motion, just on a bit more oil / deeper on the lane.

i agree mostly with the above poster.... but on lanes with plenty of head oil and clean backends it does turn into a skid snap type ball.  so if you are looking for an angular motion on heavy oil, this is your ball.

I am looking for a Hard hooking Ball like this. It is dull. Should I shine it?

Boos...did you drill a Sting?  I''m thinking you did based on your thread in the drilling section asking about a given drilling (pin position).  Are you not getting the reaction out of the ball that you expected...I assume not based on this thread.  What is the ball doing for you in comparison to your other equipment?

Polish **might** be the answer or you might need a weaker drilling in the ball.  I polished my Sting and found it didn''t want to read my house pattern enough so I put it back to factory.

Ball reaction is so dependant on a number of variables and thus far you haven''t given us anything to work with.

The Ball is rolling out and just not turning the corner. Not much backend. I have it box finish. My other equipment hooks a little more.

So I would start with Polish and see if that helps.  After that it's a matter of getting more into the oil or a redrill all together.  However, you started the other thread and a Venom would definately get more length with more snap on the backend.  The most skid / flip widow was the Pearl though.
