Can you bowl league at Main Event centers?
« on: June 03, 2017, 08:13:32 AM »
I haven't been to one in a while, but back then, all the Main Event centers in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Tx area were recreational only, no leagues.

At least that's what I was told by the guy on the phone when I asked if they had any open play lanes. He said "Yes, they're ALL open play, we don't do league bowling at Main Event".

I'm betting no. Never been to one, but know the type of center it is. That way they don't really have to maintain the lanes and such. Just rock and bowl!

That's what I'm thinking as well, which brings me to my next question.

Does the USBC still "subsidize" the PBA?

Which brings me to question three.

Why would the PBA use and promote a bowling chain (PBA Main Event Tour Finals) that does not have or allow leagues by the very people who are subsidizing your tour?

Just a random chain of thought from a very random mind.......................
Your sanction dollars at work to "grow the sport" maybe?

Because the PBA would probably name an event the ISIS open if they were paid enough money. Tom Clark would be sitting in the front row holding up his foam #1 finger and smiling like a dope.

There's no respect for anything left in professional bowling. Just give me the cash and do whatever you want.

 Cool.

Just remembered my experience, and was wondering.

People always talking about leagues being too long, maybe 8 weeks is enough anymore.

This may be the future of league bowling, but at least it is still on the list!
