Can you bowl?
« on: April 12, 2005, 11:16:38 AM »
Is anyone watching this show?  It's horrible....If we had made any pushes to educate the public on bowling, this show just demolished that.  Horrible, horrible.  They could have at least gotten athletes who normally bowl, like Jerome Bettis.......Sheesh.  Poor Norm Duke, having to commentate.  At least he's gettin some money from it.

I don't think this show is so bad. I think it might encourage alot of people to go out bowling if they see their favorite celebrity/sports star on TV having a ton of fun. Agreed that pins were a bit active, but thats OK with me.

When they showed TO down the alley, I was like, "Hey, thats not fair! This guy can actually bowl"

So, IMO, if it gets people to bowl, and promotes bowling as something you can go out and do with some people and have fun with, then bring it on. I'll personally try to watch it, if nothing else, to laugh at people who have no clue what they're doing.

Maybe, but it will only promote people to go out once or twice, not to join leagues....And the point is, it's absolutely destroying the very little credibility that bowling had (if any) left.

At the same time this was on, another channel was showing the 2004 (mumbles in beard) Cup.  The one with a European team vs an American team.  Tim Mack and Tony Reyes were on the US team and Tore Torgerson was on the European team.  Seemed sort of odd - they bowled on one lane only, scotch doubles, Baker, and singles.  Every one of the Euros grabbed the bejasus out of the ball at the bottom of their swing.  On the whole, it didn't look a lot better than Bowling tonight did.

I actually watched it with my 10 year old son....he was laughing so hard at how bad they bowled....but he thought it was cool the first game when all these "star" athletes couldn't beat his high game for the year.

And did they really have to show every single shot twice?  Well then, at least Alana Beard (with the replay) could knock down 4 pins per ball.

However, she did look good in those jeans, though.  Heh heh........

don't laugh at him, it was very traumatic for him when it happened.  He can only laugh because of the thousands of dollars his two moms and two dads spent.
