Can you use all the same equipent in different houses?
« on: January 27, 2005, 10:16:19 AM »
Sadly, it's been a while since I bowled in more than one house but when I did one was wood and the other synthetic.  I was thinking (remembering) that I had very few balls that I could use in either house with any degree of success.

What are your experiences with bowling in different houses, especially with different lane surfaces?  Have any of you found that you are able to use the same equipment on wood and synthetics?

Yup. I mean, if the oil patterns are drastically different, no. If I carry 5 balls with me, I can cover just about anything though. I only carry 3 to league though.

i have used the same 2 balls (command zone arc, tornado blue/violet) in 3 different houses for the past 4 weeks. One wood, one pro anvil, one guardian. They just seem to work well in all three, so i won't change until i start sucking again.

For the 3 different house shot walls i bowl on i usually got it covered with my rule and xception that are drilled to snap and sonic x for dry and spares, i have 1 or 2  other balls that i bring to tournaments that are more for control on a harder shot or unfamiliar lanes.

before i got my xception i have used my rule for a 3 game set many times, usually can play a straighter line and find some oil, but would much rather get it out side with the xception

Lately in the 2 wood houses I bowl in I can get away with my Animal, Rule, Hot Wire and Barrage lineup, plus the Target Zone for spares. But for tournaments I bring everything, as you never know what you could see...

If the ball rolls then its usable. Might not be perfect, but it has potential.

Man, I envy you guys!! I generally use only pearls, or Storm equipment in woodlaned houses. And then the rest of my arsenal in others.
Lately though, it's been my Animal, and whole cast of other characters in my guardian laned house.
An old Red Alert and Enforcer in my synthetic laned house.

And then I have one house which I still haven't figured out what works! It really seems to like only urethane! Needless to say, my averages reflect my indecisions in ball choice as well. Terrible....currently.
