I throw both candlepin and duckpin as well as ten pin. Candlepin are the lightest balls at under three pounds. It is tough and a 120 game is pretty good. If your center doesn't have automatic scorers, it scores just like ten pin, except you get three balls per frame instead of two. But if you clear the rack on your third ball you only get the fill, it's not a spare. duckpin scores the same and the balls go to almost 4 pounds. The pin action seems better in duckpin, but since the pins are shorter, they miss eachother differently than in candlepin. Still fun, and scores about the same. You don't throw a hook, it is all about accuracy and a staright shot. The lanes are the same for all three games. I recommend it. Candle and duck are young games compared to ten pin in that they are only about 100 years old. Don't let the low scores discourage you, it is a different game than ten pin, but requires a lot of the same skill sets. You don't have to worry about rev rates and axis tilt or equipment. Bring your ten pin shoes, and pick up any of the epco balls off the rack, try to keep using similar balls as there are slight differences in some weights that aren't labeled on the balls, I find it helps with accuracy. Faster isn't always better, and using a slight angle of attack on your first ball can help if you get good deflection. Good Luck
