Im having problems getting out of the ball my thumb seems to hang at the nail side of it. I have 3/16 rev 1/8 right with a five inch span ? what can cause this hanging problem

try taking a bevel sander and lightly sanding out a oval where your thumb needs to release. I do this on all my balls to clear easily. if you do not have a beveler just make a tool like I do. take a large sized mark a lot, apply double tape (carpet tape) and then stick some sandpaper on it and use it to sand remove where needed. this tool works really good for me

I have a bevel knife and tools It drags deeper in the hole like where my first knuckle is it feels like my reverse pitch is not enough for my hand.

talk to your driller then look into some small pitch adjustments. that or try shortening your span a lil unless you have pretty large hands a 5" is quite long

I have always heard that the more stretched your span is the more reverse you will require to clear. you say you have a 5 inch span but that is relative, is your span stretched or relaxed? maybe have to go with more reverse

Well i put my thumb in the ball lay my fingers over the holes and the first crease is centered over the holes. Is that right ? Im gonna try more reverse in a test ball here soon. see what that does.

when i have that problem i like to have the front of the thumb beveled and it helps give it a little more room
