Carpel Tunnel / Tendonitis

Anyone have problems with this?  Since May of this year, I have been having problems with my wrist. At certain angles, my wrist hurts.  But more importantly, I feel weak.  I drop the ball more often than not when trying to throw at a corner pin because I relax/break my wrist.  It feels great until I get to the foul line and I just drop it.

I talked with Paul Fleming this past weekend at a regional and he told me he has had tendonitis in the wrist since 2000.  He takes anti-inflammatories and some other stuff to help with it.  He took my arm and starting applying pressure to a few pressure points in my forearm and it felt like it was on fire. I have a doctor's appointment today to look into it.

Anyone have these kinds of problems with their wrist?  Or anyone with a medical background who can chime in here?

I started using a robby's revs II brace this year to try to help get a more consistant release on my shot.  I didn't realize the stress that it puts onto my fingers.  I've got tendonitis in the palm of my bowling hand now.  You could actually see the swelling in my hand.  took a week off of bowling and got a powerball gyroscope  (www.powerballs.com  or  www.thinkgeek.com)  It's an addicting little thing, but my hand seems to be feeling much much better with a combination of that and advil.  I'm going to start icing after bowling now to see if that helps.  Also ditching the robby's starting this week to take some of the strain off of my fingers...

I also use a magnetic bracelet. It does seem to help a lot with the pain. Can't say it's done much for the healing process, though.

and another by the way - a 6-10 pound weight is too heavy for a lot of us with the pain in the wrist and elbow. I use either a 1 or 2 pound weight.

I hold it between the palm of my hand and my fingers.
First position - palm up. Lift the weight 5-10 times - three sets.
Second - palm down. Same reps/sets.
Third - palm facing in - same reps/sets.
I try to do these a couple of times a day, after stretches. I ice afterwards.

I haven't been real diligent with the exercises, but I plan to get better at doing them, when the pain eases up.
