Ball hits like a truck
« on: January 07, 2009, 01:49:43 AM »
I see that phrase all over this site. Having never been hit by a truck myself, I'm confused. What do trucks hit like, and, what kind of truck is it best to hit like? Is an S10 hit like an F150 hit? Should I go to a Dodge pro shop?

It hits like a truck and keeps the pins low. It's no good if it doesn't keep the pins low!

I would rather not hear any comparison to how a ball hits like. Whenever someone asks me how the ball hits the pins I tell them "The ball makes a hard move off the break point" or some kind of variation of that. Thats what most people that bowl around here judge a balls reaction or hitting power.

Its a phrase that will forever be used unfortunately.

"The ball hits like a TRUCK."

Does that mean it must be used by a truck driver?

Is a C.D.L. required to buy one?

I have been hit by a truck.  A semi tow truck to be exact.  None of my bowling balls hit as hard as that truck.

Someone needs to interview a bowling pin, and get their perspective on this "hits like a truck" thing.

Nice. This is the kind of testimony we can use to create a baseline. Let's see... According to CPA's profile, so far we have:

Semi tow truck > The One, Gamebreaker, T-Road Pearl and Maxim

Keep 'em coming!

I got hit by a truck once.

It came down the road and turned the corner hard and hit me flush.

I woke up two days later...

No bowling ball will ever hit like a truck, not even a little one.
