VISE IT in dishwasher bath

I was wondering if anyone has used the dishwasher bath method if you have the VISE IT thumb system?  What is the best way to do this? I have a bunch of balls so I won't be able to have a thumb in all of them.  Will the heat from the hot water damage/warp/melt the locking mechanism at the bottom of the thumb hole?

Ive done it many times using the Dishwashing method... so far so good.
