Carry on?
« on: January 17, 2010, 06:23:11 PM »
Are bowling balls allowed as a carry on on airline flights?  Are there anykind of requirements? 2 ball tote ok?  Might be entering a tournament in the near future and coming from Hawaii and going to las Vegas.  Thanks in advance!

When I flew from Hawaii to Vegas I carried on a two ball carrier.  In light of the recent troubles with the airlines, I wouldn't count on being able to do the same now.  Check with your airline.

THe last Time I went to Vegas to Bowl the USBC open the would only let me take my spare ball as a carry on. I had to Check all others. A friend told me who works for an Airline it's because the x-ray machine can not see through the weight blocks. Just call the Airline. And the must have drop by bag had a ball crack and bag zipper was broke. Might just ship this year.

Why don't you ship them to your hotel? Some tournaments have special arrangements for this as well. I know it's a little more money but it could give you some peace of mind.

Thanks guys, looking at the options. Someone told me to just buy a new ball up there and ship it back after the tourney.
