Woo hoo, I'm gonna be getting a nice new digital video camera in the next couple of days, and its main perpose is gonna be for the bowling, although the misses doesnt know that yet.

I've never recorded my game before and was wondering if any of you have got any good tips, for example, angles to record, or even if there is free software to help you analyse it etc...

Any Ideas would be greatly apreciated.

I find (im only pretty new at it too... g/f just got some fancy camera... so i nicked off with it for a while at league the other night) that the best angles are a diagonal view from behind, side on from the approach of the next lane.

Main reason for this is that you can get a better view of your timing and how your swing looks with your steps.  If you filmed from directly behind you, its hard to see exactly when your pushing away, where your eyes are etc etc. And if you have a really brave camera man, get him/her to stand on the capping about 15 feet down the lane and get a front on shot, just try not to loft the ball at them LOL.

Didnt get to put any of the vids i took the other day on my computer, i will put them up in the next few days.

Well I'm a lefty, but this is good, cus to the left of lane 1 is a walk way thats goes right back to the pin setters, so I can get the camera man to just stand down there... woo hoo, great idea matt, thanks. I think I'll just go experiment... the only problem is now I have to wait for the camera to turn up.... gosh darn it... t hehe
