ARLINGTON, Texas - The United States Bowling Congress has reached an agreement with CBS Sports Network to televise 10 major championship bowling events in 2015, highlighted by the Bowlmor AMF U.S. Open, providing a new level of national television coverage for the sport.

Live coverage on CBS Sports Network also includes the Professional Women's Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour Championship. The rapidly growing Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and Master will be televised for the first time, while the XBowling Intercollegiate Championships return to the Network.

"This television package demonstrates the future for the sport we can build when everyone in bowling comes together," United States Bowling Congress Executive Director Chad Murphy said. "This was only possible thanks to the collective leadership of the boards at the International Bowling Campus, commitment from our industry partners and support from parents and bowlers."

The Bowlmor AMF U.S. Opens and PWBA Tour Championship will be televised live on Sundays, beginning on Sunday, Sept. 6. The schedule calls for the XBowling Intercollegiate Championships to air as a four-telecast series on Mondays in May, while Junior Gold Championships will air as a three-telecast series Tuesdays in August. The complete television schedule is listed below.

"When you look at this package, we have exposure to bowling at all levels," Bowling Proprietors' Association of America Executive Director Frank DeSocio said. "From our youth programs to college to the professional level, these outstanding events will receive great national attention."

CBS Sports Network telecast schedule (all times Eastern; subject to change):

XBowling Intercollegiate Championships, Northrock Lanes, Wichita, Kansas
- Monday, May 4, 11, 18 and 25 at 7 p.m.

Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and Master, Stardust Bowl, Addison, Illinois

PWBA Tour Championship, location TBD
- Sunday, Sept. 13, 1 p.m. (live broadcast)

Bowlmor AMF U.S. Open, AMF Garland Lanes, Garland, Texas
- Sunday, Nov. 8, 1 p.m. (live broadcast)

Go to BOWL.com to learn more about the XBowling Intercollegiate Championships, the Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and Master, and the Bowlmor AMF U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open.

With emphasis on the US Open, could this be the beginning of the end of the relationship with ABC/ESPN?

I hope so. I've had enough of ESPN.

It's nice but still doesn't help that much. I have direct t.v. and it's not even a basic package and I don't have cbs sports.network

It's on my Directv. It might be part of the sports programming package.

If DirecTV is like Dish, then you are likely correct...bottom line is that the coverage will reach far fewer prospective viewers than would the ABC/ESPN family of networks.

Those fapping to the deal will need to realize that this is not CBS pitting bowling on national-over-the-air TV right up against football on Fox.  In fact, CBSSN is pitting bowling against IT'S OWN national broadcast of an NFL game.

That being said, CBSSN does tend to run things multiple times during a week, so re-runs will be far more accessible than waiting for someone to upload a show to YouTube.

Ditto that...

And I have cable.  No problems getting CBS Sports Network.  For hockey games this time of year especially.

I wouldn't think so, because we get it and we don't subscribe to any sports package.
