Need some advice
« on: April 04, 2008, 01:36:29 AM »
I was lucky enough to win any two balls, drilling, and a two ball bag of my choice, last night at my local bowling association banquet. Obviously there are way to many good balls out there. My current arsenal is in my profile. Right now I am thinking Break Pearl and Ultra Zone. But not sure if they would overlap each other. Give me your suggestions.

BP and UZ is totally different balls. The UZ should start up much earlier then the BP. The BP is going to be more angular on the backend as well. My friend has a BP and thats how his reacts and I've got a TF with the enmotion coverstock so I know about how those two compare and how the UZ should start up earlier then the TF. So you shouldn't have no overlap but its mostly in the drillings.

I agree with NicholasE.  You would be in pretty good shape with those 2 balls.  However, they are both pretty strong balls.  I would look into getting something that can handle the lanes with less oil.  Either of the Avalanches would work well.  I do believe the UZ will be more versitle than the BP.  The enmotion coverstock is made for length.  Therefore, since the ball come rough buff OOB, it will start a little sooner.  HOwever, you could throw some polish or something on it to lengthen it and strengthen the backends.  So if it were me, I would probably do the Ultra Zone and Avalanche Pearl.

Take your ball of choice and a Buzzbomb.Drill the ball of choice and take the Saw undrilled.Throw the Saw on Ebay and take the cash the buzzheads will shell out and buy both Avalanches.

I would say if you have the option get a Cell drill it pin up. You will not be disapointed.

No Andy, I think you are right. I am planning on getting a Ogre Pearl but it is so resonable with the test staff I don't want to use it as one of the free ones Also looking at a B/G down the road for a "dry" ball.
