I recently got the Century 21 spare ball for free from bowling.com, I was wondering is this ball hard or soft rubber? If anyone else has it does it have hook at all if throwen normally?

I break my wrist for spares so I can throw it straight as needed but I bowl in a house where their is more backend than is even imaginable, Was wondering if this turn a bit if I throw it straight up the boards.

All i know is a customer brought in one with a hammer sauce he had bought. It smells so bad i wanted to throw up for about an hour when the ball was on the press and afterwards.

I stock that ball its a hard rubber comin in at a 90 hardness on my dermeter

I drilled one for a customer that has a ton of hand and it barely wrinkled. And yes, it stinks when you drill it. -- JohnP

I can second that... was at a shop that drilled one for someone. Burnt rubber anyone?

This ball has a nice smooth backend reaction on drier conditions.

I play the track with it, directly up 10 board.

It will rotate nicely right up 10 as if it will never move, but then when it hits the backend it turns over and will drive very strongly through the pins.

It hits very hard.

This ball is actually a softer rubber ball with good traction.

Below is a link to a video showing its reaction on light oil.

My release is an old school Full Roller release with low speed (10 mph) and low revs (155 rpm) but a 90 degree axis rotation!
