Could we see the return of epoxy coverstocks?
« on: March 30, 2022, 11:04:07 AM »
I am wondering if ball companies might attempt epoxy covers again. I don't recall what the hardness was of the epx t1--bought a used one once, had it briefly, preferred my particle balls over it for heavy oil(scorchers/purple ice etc.). Since that type of coverstock was supposed to generate more friction, wouldn't that be a way to achieve the hook motion ball companies are wanting to put into their balls without needing to go really soft on the hardness to achieve it? Just wondering.

Doubt it.  Ball was hard to make with any quality control.  The failure of the ball almost bank erupted Columbia

There were guys way smarter than Chad that led the epoxy debacle.  He hadn't smoke and mirrored his way up the totem pole yet at that point.

I doubt it that thing was bear all the way around. On the end it was extremely effective in oil.
