Anyone else throwing on Kegel's Highway to Hell Pattern?
« on: April 13, 2009, 12:01:34 PM »
We just started the Highway to Hell pattern this week and will shoot on it for 3 more weeks.  It's interesting, not as squirrelly as some of the other sports patterns our league has been on.

I played up 8 to start with a pin under dimension. On synthetic lanes. I also seen a rapid fire solid being used with sucuess, playing in.

it's the flattest of the navigation sport series patterns and 40ft long so i would say a bowler should have their breakpoint around 8, 9, 10 area or further to the outside if possible but it could be a bit unforgiving i would probably end up playing around 3rd arrow to 9th board sort of area but it all depends on the bowler.

IF I CAN CONVINCE MY HOUSE THAT SPORT CONDITIONS HELP BOWLERS I COULD START A SPORT LEAGUE AND BOWL ON THESE PATTERNS SO ANY ARGUMENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Tonight I was standing 20 and playing straight up 13.  Can't play much straighter than that.  187, 169, 206  Missed a couple of combo spares second game.  Bowling these patterns I think is really doing me some good.  I get bored really easy on the house shot.  I get the select the shot and I thought this would be interesting.

looking at the graph (http://www.kegel.net/patternlibrary/foPattern.asp?iKodPattern=608&bScreen=2&bType=0&iKodMachine=0&iKodConditioner=0&iKodLane=0) I would play the end of the pattern at 14 with enough ball and hand to recover if I hit 15 or deeper at the end of the pattern and be sure my ball was reading the midlane. I would set it down 17 or deeper. This way, I would have miss room to the right at the end of the pattern. With enough ball, surface and hand, it might look pretty easy. I actually played this pattern several weeks ago and finished 4th out of 82 and was the last right hander.
