Greg - I'm the opposite. When I move inside I use more rotation to give the ball the ability to make it back with some POP. If I'm playing "up the boards" I throw it with less rotation to keep it predictable and in play. Of course, this is only valid for most of the "easier" lane conditions. Obviously, if it's a short oil pattern where the breakpoint is way outside, roatation will be useful, and inversely, if it's a tough "tight" shot and all that's left playable is inside, if there's no swing area to be found then you would want to keep roatation under control to keep the ball in play.
