Yes, no tap bowling has been around for ages. Heck, it was even around back when I was coming into the sport. Thing is, I didn't get it back then either.
Why would ANYONE want to go "real" bowling, but keep "fake" scores? Even back when my average was in the 140's and 150's I didn't like no tap bowling. It always felt wrong to act like I was accomplishing something that I wasn't.
See, I would rather go bowling and shoot a 150 game and have it be my actual score, than I would to go "no tap" bowling and shoot a "fake" 200 and know I didn't deserve it.
You want to bowl for fun? Fine, then bowl for fun, just take your actual scores and have all the fun in the world. You want to get better scores, then get up off your duff and learn how to actually get those scores, don't fake it with no tap scores.
If you want to bowl no tap, I suppose that's fine if that's what you want, but I just don't understand how that is what ANYBODY could want.
