spinner release?
« on: November 06, 2004, 09:50:36 PM »
Anyone here throw with a spinner release or have any close team members that do? Just wondering what the results are throwing this kind of release as far as average goes and what kind of equiptment is being used? If your wondering why I am asking, it's because I bowl in a house where they put down medium to light oil at best and the first 18ft. is guardian overlay to complicate matters and with everone throwing aggresive equiptment and not knowing any better to switch to lighter oil equiptment by the second game the heads are totally burnt out and plastic becomes the only option. The other day I decided to try this type of release after leagues were done to get the ball thru the heads better and to my surprise the ball did not check up early and roll out or jump,it just sailed thru the heads and turned the corner with a nice arc and carried pretty well to my surprise. I am going to give this release a try next time just to see the results I get but meantime figured I would see if anyone here had any comments. Thanks.

I used to know a guy that was a spinner... He could go to any house anywhere and play the exact same line all the time. He never shot great sets, but never shot terrible ones either, very consistent. I use a modified spinner release once i am past 2nd or 3rd arrow with plastic, just so the ball has something left for the backend. Works pretty well on dry and is nice to have a viable option to survive if necessary.
