15lb and 16lb

I am throwing a 14lb ball right now and I am getting ready to go up in weight. I can throw a 15lb and a 16lb. So I was wondering which one is better? I have noticed that most of pros have went down to 15 and was wondering why, and also wondering which one everyone thinks I should get. Thanks.

It really depends on your game. I currently throw 16lb balls although I have thrown 15lb balls and 14lb balls in the past. The 16lb balls simply carry better for me because I do not put a lot of hand in the ball and it has slowed my ball speed to allow the ball to read the lane better. I know some young guns that do great with 14lb balls because they put more energy in the ball than I do. The average bowler would likely do fine with a 15lb ball. You decide what best fits your game.

The straighter your game, the better served you'll be by the heavier (16#) equipment.

Well 16 pound weapons are good for....people who like throwin' them. I think that pro's moved to 15, are they are easier to roll, plus you get a little deflexion at the pins...blammo
score more? But it's personal choice, I used to roll a 16, then moved down to 15, because of arthritic joints!
