I was absolutely shocked!

I heard that 599 won the scratch doubles pot in my league this week!  I was shocked... not because the score was too high, but that 600 didn't take it, as has become the norm lately.

599 for two people total one game. How is that low? I would figure with 300 the max score for bowling how can you bowl a 677 for two people one game.

My league puts handicap in the doubles, it takes a MINIMUM of 545 just to cash.  560 is usually good for the win.

Most of the time there isn't a 300 at all per year.

In one house last year in my area, there where 45 300's and 22  800's. I haven't bowled there, but it was like close your eyes and dump it.

Ours isn't quite that bad, and I will admit, the league does have a lot of competent bowlers... but we still have approx 20 different bowlers with 300's this year (many of whom have shot multiple 3's), and a handful of 8's.
