That 3-6-10 is never a gimme, it can be frustrating.

Just a small rant.................................................

Bowled a 6 game tournament Saturday, missed 4 spares. Rushed 1 10 pin and chopped the 3-6-10 and the 6-10 twice in the last game to miss the stepladder final by 4 pins.

On the bright side....damn good bowling I'd say! I am still aspiring to even reach those heights. Good job, Dude!

I know how you feel....

This last season I struggled with right side combo spares besides single pin leaves. Only near the end of the season (Feb/March) I started to feel comfortable. On sweepers night I realized I've been doing really well picking up 3 6 or 6 10 leaves..... till I left the 3 6 after a 4 bagger.

Granted the 3 was offset after the sweep, I wasn't going to chop the 3 pin. I took out the 6 on its right side instead. Only open for the night.... At least I took sweepers lol

Maybe I can put a spin on this to make you feel better.........

When I was a 170 avg bowler making the 3/6/10 or 3/10 split was almost automatic....because I left plenty of them and I knew what to do every time I left it standing.

Ever since my average climbed above 200 i don't leave the 3/6/10 or 3/10 split standing that much anymore.  So now when it does occasionally happen after a 4 or 5 bagger this happens....... 

I stand on the approach 2nd guessing and 3rd guessing myself on what I need to do and talk myself right out of picking up that freaking spare!!! 

The whole situation totally sucks because you roll 4 or 5 perfect shots right in the pocket and crush the pins.  Then for some freaking reason your next perfect shot goes high and you're not exactly sure how it happened.  Now your standing up there and trying to figure out how to go really low and hit the 3/6 pocket???  Hey guys do you mind if I run to the bar and get a shot of Jameson before I have to shoot this spare? 

The 6-10 has become my least favorite "makeable" spare. I miss it all three ways that it can be missed.

I don't know if I'd agree with that completely. I'd say the 3-6, 3-6-10, 6-10, and 3-10 are my most common multi-pin spares.

I rarely leaves washouts and buckets as most of my misses are generally left of target and/or my ball speed can get a little slow at times.

This is me as well, and I'm really frustrated at how low of a %age I have in making the 3-6-10.

One of my practice goals this summer is to spend at least one whole practice game rolling between the 3-6 during my sessions.

The 6-10, 2-5, and 2-4-5 are the spares that I chop the most. Since I started using a plastic ball on all spares, I have somewhat reduced the chops. But chops still happen too frequently.
