clairification
« on: September 28, 2011, 11:23:32 PM »
Hello Group

A question here, 3 weeks ago my Wednesday night league started, however, I was not on a team so I subbed that night.

So the following week a team was formed and so my new team bowled on the 2nd night of league, we bowled and then my new team bowled a make-up series for the 1st week that we missed.

Here is my question. On the make-up series that we did the bowling house did not take into account my make-up series saying that since I bowled the 1st night and subbed that they wont count my make-up team series.

The deal is on the 1st night when I subbed I had a very bad back problem and bowled like crap (no big deal)  BUT on the 2nd league night I bowled great and especially in the make-up series. So should the Bowling House

use my make-up series or what???

I would think no. Even though you subbed, the scores still counted.  If you use the make up series with the new team, you go down as having bowled twice for week 1.  I would think you would have to sit out for the makeup and start with the week 2 scores.

Your scores cannot count for the week one make-up since you subbed on another team.

Unfortunately, you have already bowled the make-up and since your scores don't count, your new team will have to take a vacant score for your score.  If you could do it all over again, your team could have had a sub for the make-up bowling then you take over for week 2.

Agree with the previous two replies. I am sure someone can find it in the rules.

That would be covered under usbc rule 107a Competition limited to one team. I would think your team would have to use a vacancy score for your position for that first week makeup. I think FAQ question 107c/2 in the book is very similar to this situation.

Big Jake  your first weeks score counts for the team that you bowled for.  Under rule 107 you cannot transfer those scores for your "new" team.  the "sub" score will count for your average.
