Classic Zone or Apocalypse
« on: August 04, 2004, 10:27:45 AM »
Hell all,
Today the I heard the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.  I walked into a guys proshop with a couple of my boys and we saw a classic zone with a price of $68 on it!!! So my friend(DP3) being the kind man that he is asked the proshop operator if he meant to put a 1 in front of the 68 and the operator said no that it was a "Plastic" ball.  Thats right a plastic ball, needless to say I bought it off of him, I had to, I couldn't let a classic zone be called a plastic ball.

But anyways, I want an aggressive pearl piece for my arsenal, something that is going to give me a smooth reaction and nice length, I want to lay it out pin under the bridge w/ the MB 1/4 inch right of the thumb.  Should I trade the ball for the Apocalypse or just go with the classic with the same layout. I can't really describe how I bowl, maybe DP3 can tell ya'll, but I just wanna know you guys thoughts.

Thanks,
BMM

bmm,
I can't tell you about the Classic Zone (but what a steal!!) anyhow...the Apocalypse is going to clear the heads beautifully and make a 'strong arc' at the spot....stronger in a polished state. Mine is 1000 smooth so it's a touch more tame, but that's how I like it. The Apoc is a pearl/solid combo giving you a TON of versatility! Scuff it to 600 and you could throw this on a med-heavy house shot with NO problem,...put it in box condition (1500 polished) and you can play a nice deep line in med-lights!

I think the Classic uses the Activator coverstock....now, I've never thrown a 'current' Brunswick ball so I'm not going to bash it at all, they make great stuff but there were plenty of complaints regarding the original Inferno,...total LOVE/HATE relationship with that ball.....but anyhow....

Message me w/ questions............

Hey James...I'll see you tomorrow but I gotta tell you now.  I've talked with Brunswick rep and staffer Dennis Reale and I've seen him throw the ball and this is not the type of ball you're looking for.  With your equipment it's not going to give you a much different look from your Detour or Ressurection.

The Classic Zone isn't made to hook off the lane or give a hard pronounced skid/snap.  It give the "Classic" Zone roll.  Even through the heads and midlane with a nice arcing motion.  Longer than an Inferno, Stronger than a Time Zone.  Trade it for the Apocalypse, or if you wanna man up trade it for a XXX Factor, slap in your favorite drill and watch it fly on the backend.
