You can't 5 minutes without hearing a "Congratulations to [bowler] on lanes
  • for a very nice [something over 260] game."


Your league consistently starts 5-10 minutes late due to the presentation of all the "11 in a row," "299," and "300 game" awards.

When you go by the name Rev_O.....

When you average 230, but average a nice 172 at a national tour stop qualifier.

When you can average 220 and can't spare a 10 pin.

No complaints here.  I think it's fine that my center got a new oil machine and now 32% of the league bowl 600+ sets - with 10% of the league bowling 700+.  That's on a weekly basis.

I know that I'm a mediocre bowler, so I have no problem knowing that I'm still bowling the same on the light volume, short oil pattern that is bone dry outside of 10 as I was on the pattern that was still a short pattern, but light-medium oil from gutter to gutter.

Still, it's funny to go from hearing maybe 2 or 3 scores (usually around 240) announced every week to suddenly hearing 8-10 per week (all 260 or higher).  And it's kind of funny to go from 3 or 4 300s per year to 3 or 4 per week!  Seriously, this past week we had 2 300s and 2 299s.

15-20% of our league has bowled a 279 or higher game!

Over 20% of the league has bowled a 700+ set.

you go to a tournament look above there desk and see 17 298-300's and 8 800's with 12 other 790+
Then bowl your 9 games average 230 and only good enough for 86th place with 2 weekends to go

Around here they yank the shot 5 boards inside, hits high flush, and then when it leaves a 10 pin they kick the ball return and complain about the carry.


YES!

There are so many guys around my league that do that its disgusting...makes me wanna punch them...."No, you shouldn't have carried that!"

If I yank it 5 boards inside, I just pray that I don't leave some sort of pretty design.
