I have not bowled on the new version yet, but can make some analysis.  First I would like to know your arsenal, and perhaps the lane surface, and how old it is.   Also just consider this, where do other players that are scoring well play this shot?  What types of balls are they using.

The new Cheetah certainly seems to be giving people more problems than the "old" Cheetah.  I do like it a bit better, but I've been using a Momentum Swing dulled at 1000 abralon, standing at 14, playing up 6 or 7.  The center I bowl this PBA league in never has any friction near the channel on the PBA's or on the house shot, so the gutter isn't in play on the new Cheetah either, not sure if that's the pattern's design or just the house.  The new Cheetah really isn't the carry contest the old version used to be, and I'm glad to see that.  Bottom line is I try to keep my speed down, and let the ball read the back of the pattern where the friction is, the transistion of it is still giving me problems, as I can't really move in on it yet......maybe just increase the speed until I can sneak in a couple boards with a more aggressive ball.  I consider myself a speed dominant player, so on PBA patterns, I'm constantly fighting my speed, and keeping the line tight enough so that I can create some area.
