I am looking for some good Silver or Gold Level coaching in California. I am in Southern California but I will travel to get good coaching. Looking for comments from people that have had experience with the individuals they are recommending.

Tom Shepard in Santa Barbara about 2hr.s N of LA, is a Silver Level and has been my coach for 7 years.  He runs the proshop at the center there - Zodo's - and also coaches the UC Santa Barbara college team.  Was one of the first on the West Coast with Bowler's Map and DigiTrax.

I go up every couple months (from Orange County) to get things tweaked.  It's also a nice drive and great city to visit, might even be able to get the wife to go with you and hang out for the evening, great restaurants and bars all over town.

If you want to improve your game and you are in the So. Cal area  I would get in touch with Mark Baker.  He runs successful bowling camps twice a year and has helped a lot of bowlers.  Mark helps a lot of bowlers from the PBA region and has helped some TUSA players as well.

I was being coached by Juan Fonseca, but have not had any lessons in about a year.  He has gone to coaching full time and does travel around SoCal.

I am a certified Bronze coach, but pretty much coach juniors and a few low average adults.  My biggest drawback is a lack of time.  Now that school is back in session and I'll be starting a program at the school where I teach, time is going to be even more tight.

I have also heard great things about Mark Baker, but never had a lesson with him.
