Your longest strike string EVER?
« on: September 04, 2008, 01:29:02 AM »
League, Practice, Warmup and league, warmup and unsanctioned tournament, warmup and tourney?  What is your longest string.

I throw a slow rolling wimpy strike ball(compared to some of the powerhouses out here) that loves to ring corners.

19, and twice in tournaments 25 of the first 27 throws(including warmup).

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I have several friends who've gone into the low 30s and another friend well up in to the 40s!  Practice of course!

Some of these great totals in league....have you shot more in PRACTICE?

That's where most of the guys I know have skied into the 30s and low 40s of the top rockets!

Don't you get it Lefty...it's practice. Most bowlers don't worry about scores in practice. When I practice, whether it's before league or during an open session it's to do accomplish something. Before league it is to warm up and find a line to the pocket that carries well. When it's open session there is a particular part of my game I am working on, timing, armswing, accuracy, etc. So quit your whining and trying to defend a liar and a cheater. Why don't you take Musthare out to CA then the two of you can get married since you worship the ground he walks on so much.

We understand that!  I also know bowlers better than YOU...who have gotten it going and decided to let it flow and gotten into the 40s.  SO I guess NOT everyone has to practice like you!  Or do they?

Politically correct bowling practice format...by Jorge!  Practice like this...or else!

How do you know bowlers better then me??? You don't know me, you don't know my skill level. You say they are better why? Cause they tolerate your idiotic disjointed speeches? The more you post, the more ridiculous you become.

And where did I state that this was the only way to practice? You are the whining about people telling you (why they need to tell you is beyond me, to fulfill another of your Musthare fantasies apparently) about striking in practice. I just brought it to your attention there is a large segment of bowlers who don't worry about that when they practice. I happen to fall into that group, I couldn't tell you if I had 4, 40 or 400 in a row, because I am there to improve something, that is the idea of practice isnt it?? Or is to go and show off to open bowlers with a string of 40 in a row or maybe its to cheat the USBC into recognizing award scores that aren't really vaild?? In your case it must be the latter. For people concerned about improving their game and becoming better bowlers it's the former.

Yes, I know your accomplishments you are in the top 1% or better in the US.  I am aware of your recent 3rd in a regional.

I know his accomplishments also.

I will make sure I get with him and tell him that the Exalted Jorge....the most accomplished ____ on ballreviews.com doesn't approve.  He'll be crushed...he knows of your reputation...not as a bowler but as a well accomplished.______.

Now for the others that can count....

You know absolutely nothing about me and my accomplishments. Top 1%, hardly, I am not even in the top 10%. Unlike you, I live in reality. I am above average, but that is about it. And of course, you read your thoughts into what I said, as you do with everyone. I never said I was better then whoever you are speaking about, just that you are in no position to determine it. The person you are referencing probably is more accomplished then me, doesn't take that much, but you cannot make that call.

But of course, you fail to see the truth in what I wrote, only the lies of LuckyLefty. No wonder you are a laughing stock, on here, in life and especially in bowling.

1 game: 9
2 games: 11 (4, then 7).
Too many issues with my thumb changing size to get a consistent release for more than 1 game before I have to change balls or start playing with tape.

Pot bowling one night several years ago.  I shot 290, 300 and 279 with the front 5.  Haven't came close since that night.  Wow those were the days.

Most in league was 23 twice, once the first 23, once the last 23.

Most ever in a row, did it while bowling jackpot across the house. 8 lanes across, I went across almost 5 times beofre leaving an 8 pin, I this it was 37 in a row.

in practice... 42, left a 10 and then the next 18... decided to quit... I had about 30 people watching me in the middle of the day... back in 1979.

In league 279 10pin miss, 11 bagger then 300 and then the 1st 4... 27...

If a person has multiple team USA slots would that be a bowler in your league?

Multiple regional championships?

Rainmanc....when you had the 27 in a row and tons in practice what did you think it added up to?

Pin chaser had a performance I would have thought there are many more like!
Just those guys aren't out here much.  I believe.  We also have one guy on post who can't or won't count.  Which is it?

As to practice methods.  As a golfer I and others I practiced with had many practice routines.  Swing only practice, short game practice, putting practice.
Putting match game practice, easy course practice, tough course practice.
Tough course scoring grind out.  Easy course mental play and conditioning to build birdie streaks and accustom one to low scoring.  Mental practice on many above.  Winning conditioning also.

It was this last set once all were in place that seemed to lead to

As I progressed in golf I found my game niche to be low scoring on favorable conditions(like a top hat).  So I started to devote more of my time to that craft emphasizing the scoring regimes above.  If my goal was instead to try to make the protour I believe that I would have spent more time working on grind it out conditions.

I believe that in bowling as in golf that if a competitor spends tons of their time on only tough scoring conditions they will often find themselves in state of surprise(or shock)when putting together a super performance.  They will often STOP this unintentionally, if the practice to prepare for such occurrences has not happened.  I don't know if the exalted guru of politically correct practice approves of high scoring practice...but it sure helps whether he will agree or not.

Often to bowl or golf on both tough and Easy conditions can allow one to accomplish both objectives.  Mentally conditioning one to throw lots of strike strings I believe is something all top hat kings must become very comfortable with.

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS is it possible to be a self exalted expert on everything and still not be able to count?  Maybe?  Note only one poster above could not come up with any numbers!
